Privacy policy
LiftLens helps you log meals, workouts, sleep, water and steps. This page explains what data is collected and why.
What we collect
- Account: your Google name, email and picture, or your phone number.
- Body profile: age, sex, height, weight, goals, diet preferences and allergies you enter, used to calculate your targets.
- Logs: meals, workouts, activities, sleep, water, weight and mood, backed up so they survive a new phone.
- Photos: meal photos you scan are sent to our AI provider for analysis and not kept by us at full size. A small thumbnail of each saved meal is stored in Cloudflare R2.
- Voice: spoken logs are converted to text by your phone's speech service when available, otherwise by our AI provider. We do not keep the audio.
- Physical activity: step counts, read with your permission to show daily movement and estimate distance and calories. Steps stay on your phone and in your backup.
- Barcodes and labels: barcodes you scan are looked up in Open Food Facts, a public product database, without anything about you. If you read a product's nutrition label into LiftLens, its barcode, name and nutrition values are shared with other people who scan that product, without who added them.
- Purchases: subscription status from Google Play or Razorpay. We never see your card or UPI details.
- Security: a scrambled form of your IP address, and your phone number if you sign in with one, kept for up to 2 days to stop sign-in abuse. Cloudflare keeps short-lived request logs to run the service.
Who processes it
Cloudflare (hosting and storage), Google (food and log analysis through the Gemini API, barcode and label reading on your phone with ML Kit, sign-in, and Play billing), Open Food Facts (product lookups by barcode only), Razorpay (payments) and MSG91 (SMS codes). We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
Food data
Packaged-food data from Open Food Facts, under the Open Database License. Other nutrition values from USDA FoodData Central and the Indian Nutrient Databank (Vijayakumar et al., 2024).
Keeping and deleting data
Free-plan cloud backups and thumbnails are kept for 30 days. Pro backups are kept while your account exists, and thumbnails for a year. Delete your account at any time from Profile in the app, or see account deletion.
